Authorities in Lehigh County said 57-year-old Randy Teets of Whitehall Township had a blood alcohol content of 0.21, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, when his car smashed into a minivan in which 1-year-old Katrina Gunkel was sitting on her father's lap.
The girl was killed and her parents were seriously injured in the July 2011 crash.
Teets pleaded guilty in June to homicide by vehicle while driving drunk, aggravated assault, drunken driving and reckless endangerment.
He told the court Tuesday that if he could, he would trade his life for that of the child "without thinking twice."
