Attorneys for 25-year-old Parth Ingle say they want to sever his case from that of his father's widow because her statements to police are prejudicial.
Ingle and his mother, Bhavnaben Ingle, are charged in the January 2008 death of Arunkumar Ingle. Investigators say Arunkumar Ingle was beaten and stabbed to death inside the family's Middletown, Delaware County home.
The Delaware County Daily Times ( http://bit.ly/NyyJB3) reports the motion says use of the statements would violate Parth Ingle's right to cross-examine and accuser.
Authorities say Arunkumar Ingle's marital infidelity led to the slaying. Parth Ingle was previously convicted of hacking into his father's emails and allegedly used a GPS device to track his movements.
