Details of the settlement were not released.
WXII disappeared from Time Warner Cable last Tuesday after it failed to reach an agreement with Hearst Television on retransmission fees. Those fees allow a cable company to carry a broadcast channel.
During the time that WXII was off the Time Warner lineup, viewers got NBC programming from WBRE in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. That move was protested by the station's parent company. Nexstar filed a lawsuit to stop the broadcast, while Time Warner argued that it was within its rights to broadcast the WBRE signal.
WXII was on the air in time for Thursday night's 11 p.m. newscast.
