The Bradford Era ( http://bit.ly/Q5QhEM) on Wednesday reports the bird has been seen since at least Friday, when it was spotted near Marilla Reservoir. The bird was reportedly seen near Glendorn and in several locations in and around Bradford in McKean County. That's about 130 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
Police have been warned to keep pets and young children inside if they spot the bird, because emus are known to attack in some situations.
The birds are typically brought to the United States so they can be raised for their meat or other byproducts, but are native to Australia.
It's not immediately clear how this bird might have come to the area.
