The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ( http://bit.ly/MGEQxV) says jurors deliberated for more than six hours Tuesday before convicting 21-year-old Anthony McWhite of Crafton of first-degree murder.
Before he was led from the Westmoreland County courtroom, McWhite said he was innocent of the April 2010 shooting death of 23-year-old Shawntez Weems of Cleveland in New Kensington.
He said "I think the commonwealth knows who did it. It wasn't me."
McWhite showed no emotion when the verdict was announced as his friends and family members sobbed in the first row of the courtroom.
