No officers were wounded in the incident, which started shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday. But two officers were injured during a foot pursuit and police say as the suspects were being arrested, though those injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Authorities say the officers saw people in two cars shooting at each other. They then allegedly started shooting at officers, who did not return fire.
The two people arrested were identified only as a 17-year-old from Newark and a 19-year-old Pennsylvania man. One gun was found in one of the vehicles, which had been reported stolen during a carjacking on Sunday.
