YORK, Pa.—A central Pennsylvania judge says jurors can hear statements of a man charged in the stabbing death of a woman who lived next-door to him.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jovon Jones of York is charged in York County in the May 16 death of 42-year-old Alesia Martin.

The York Dispatch ( http://bit.ly/NHHOWb) said his attorney had asked Judge John Kennedy to toss out statements in a videotaped interview.

Public defender Jim Rader said his client said he didn't want to talk anymore, and for a detective to keep talking to him was "coercive."

But the detective said he didn't ask any questions, and Jones later decided to resume the interview.

Prosecutors said they were pleased with the denial of the motion. Rader said the issue would now be preserved for any appeal.
