READING, Pa.—A 9-year-old girl is dead after she fell from the third-floor window of a Pennsylvania animal hospital.

Police say Michaela Downes was playing with her siblings at the Kutztown Animal Hospital when she lost her balance and fell through an open, screened window Thursday evening. She was pronounced dead at hospital.

The Berks County coroner's office ruled the death an accident.

Officials said Downes was a relative of an employee at the clinic. Police say they're still investigating.
