CHARLEROI, Pa.—A western Pennsylvania teacher has been ordered to stand trial on charges he had sex with a 15-year-old girl he met after he was hired to direct a high school musical in a nearby district.

Twenty-three-year-old Jeffrey Hahn, of Belle Vernon, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other charges to which he waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Thursday.

Hahn was a seventh grade teacher at the Bethlehem-Center School District but allegedly committed the crimes in May at the Charleroi Area Junior-Senior High School auditorium, where he was directing the musical.

Charleroi school officials say Hahn passed all background checks before he was hired to direct the high school's spring musical. Police say he met the girl in March and texted her before they finally had sex May 4.
