In a brief statement issued Thursday, Corbett said he hopes the case helps people recognize that everyone has an obligation to report child sex abuse.
Earlier Thursday, Corbett declined to answer reporters' questions about his reaction to the report, saying he had not had time to read it.
Among other things, the report says top Penn State administrators and football coach Joe Paterno concealed information about Sandusky's serial child molesting to avoid bad publicity. The former assistant football coach is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of 45 criminal counts for abusing 10 boys over a period of years.
