George D. Senter, who died in July 2011 at the age of 93, taught at The Hill School in Pottstown from 1952 to 1983. The Mercury reports ( http://bit.ly/O9YMwL) the school says the money will go toward a scholarship fund, a mathematics chair and the school's endowment.
In 1999, Senter said he intended to leave a large part of his estate to the school "because I love The Hill School." The school says the gift is one of the largest it's received over its 161-year history.
