MCKEESPORT, Pa.—Detectives in western Pennsylvania are investigating an early-morning shooting death.

Police said the victim was shot at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the Pittsburgh suburb of McKeesport.

Officials said he was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified the victim as 18-year-old Chauncey Williams of Duquesne.

Officials said he died of an apparent gunshot wound, but said an autopsy would be conducted later.
