CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.—Officials have identified the man shot and killed by state police in central Pennsylvania over the weekend as a New York man.

The Franklin County coroner's office says 27-year-old Adam Schillinger was shot and killed Saturday morning by state troopers responding to a domestic disturbance call in St. Thomas Township.

State police in Chambersburg say troopers were called to a home for a call of a suspicious person. A second call received while police were en route said the person was trying to force his way into the house.

Police shot Schillinger after they say he brandished a handgun.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday for the Saugerties, N.Y. man.
