MOOSIC, Pa.—A northeastern Pennsylvania minor league baseball franchise is turning to fans for suggestions on a new name for the team.

The owners of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees told The (Scranton) Times-Tribune ( http://bit.ly/PvWvLC) that suggestions can be sent online or in person at the team's office.

Chief executive officer Art Matin of Mandalay Baseball Properties, which co-owns the team, said the winning submission will get two season tickets to the 2013 season and other gifts as well as the opportunity to throw the first pitch on opening night.

A New York Yankees executive told the paper in May that the franchise might be getting a new identity following the $43.3 million makeover of PNC Field.
