Twenty-eight-year-old Robert Frank Key, of Clearwater Beach, Fla., was charged by federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh and pleaded guilty last year to one count of identity theft.
He was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Arthur Schwab who also ordered Key to repay nearly $12,800 Key racked up on credit cards he obtained in the soldier's name, and to spend three years on probation after his prison term.
Federal investigators also determined that Key used the soldier's identity to create a fake Illinois driver's license.
