KUNKLETOWN, Pa.—An eastern Pennsylvania man has been charged with criminal homicide in the early morning death of his mother at the home they shared.

Authorities in Monroe County said 21-year-old Christopher Strachn called 911 shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday from the Polk Township residence.

Police said they found the body of 53-year-old Adrienne Strachn dead on the kitchen floor. Authorities said she had been choked and stabbed.

Coroner Bob Allen said an autopsy will be done Thursday morning.

WFMZ-TV says Strachn said nothing to reporters as he was led out of court Wednesday afternoon. A call to the Monroe County public defender's office, listed in court documents as defending him, rang unanswered after business hours Wednesday.
