PHILADELPHIA—A Florida man has been ordered to stand trial in the crash of a sport utility vehicle into a south Philadelphia storefront that killed a young New Jersey girl.

The Philadelphia Daily News ( http://bit.ly/MC3388) says Municipal Judge Dawn Segal held 28-year-old Maximiliano Alejandro Drosi of Miami for trial on all charges.

Drosi is charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault and driving under the influence in the March 25 crash that killed 11-year-old Samantha Nguyen-Ortanez of Sicklerville, N.J.

Two police officers who responded to the crash testified at Tuesday's preliminary hearing that the defendant appeared to be under the influence of marijuana.

Dr. Richard Cohn said a test later found high levels of marijuana in his system that would have made him incapable of safely operating a car.
