Twenty-two-year-old 22-year-old Brandy Furlong waived her right to a preliminary hearing on the charge Monday.
Furlong's attorney Casey Mullen says the woman is still grieving the loss of her 2-day-old baby on Feb. 16 and allegations that she somehow contributed to the child's death.
Police say Furlong left her son in an infant seat on the floor when she went into another room, only to return to find the dog was hovering over the bloody child, who died shortly thereafter of head trauma at a hospital.
The dog has since been court-ordered to live in an out-of-state animal sanctuary
