HARRISON CITY, Pa.—Friends of a man fatally shot by a crazed gunman at a Pittsburgh psychiatric clinic have organized a softball tournament to benefit a charity that opposes gun violence.

But the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ( http://bit.ly/Lhmzda) reports the July 29 tournament in Harrison City is not named only for 25-year-old Michael Schaab, who was killed by gunman John Shick at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh on March 8.

The First Annual Schaab Memorial Softball Tournament is also named for his sister, Nancy Schaab, who was fatally shot during an argument with her boyfriend in October 2010.

University of Pittsburgh campus police fatally shot Shick after he killed Schaab and wounded five others. The former boyfriend of 26-year-old Nancy Schaab, is serving six to 15 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter in her shooting.

The tournament will benefit CeaseFirePA.
