NEW CASTLE, Pa.—Police say they plan to charge four people who beat a western Pennsylvania man in an attempt to steal a winning scratch-off lottery ticket worth $5,000.

The New Castle News ( http://bit.ly/NovU4C) reports Monday that police in the city about 45 miles northwest of Pittsburgh have yet to identify the suspects. A police official could not immediately supply information Monday about the incident reported about 6:30 p.m. June 7.

That's when a landlord called police to report that 30-year-old Lance Druga had been beaten on the porch of a residence.

Police say Druga told the others about the ticket and that all four suspects jumped on and beat the man trying to take it from him. Police say Druga had a footprint-shaped injury on the side of his head where he had been kicked.
