PITTSBURGH—A federal jury in western Pennsylvania has sided with two state troopers in a civil case filed by a man who alleged that he was beaten after he fought with an off-duty trooper at a concert five years ago.

Thirty-nine-year-old Christian Boehm alleged that the troopers shackled and beat him after he was taken into custody by local police following the 2007 Toby Keith concert.

The defense said such an assault never occurred and Boehm was injured in the concert fight. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ( http://bit.ly/NKWoLk) says jurors decided in the troopers' favor Wednesday.

Boehm earlier pleaded guilty to fight-related charges and was sentenced to more than a year in jail. His lawyer called the verdict disappointing but said it's too early to say whether his client will appeal.
