LIGONIER, Pa.—An autopsy was set on the body of a man who slipped and fell while working on the roof of a building that housed a Chinese restaurant and tanning salon in southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Westmoreland County Coroner says 53-year-old Cian Yates, of Conemaugh Township, Cambria County, was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday afternoon in Ligonier. That's about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Yates was working for a contractor whom authorities have not publicly identified when he slipped on the metal roof shortly after it began raining about 4 p.m.

The coroner says the autopsy will be conducted Wednesday, but the cause and manner of Yates' death likely won't be determined for weeks pending tests on his body tissues and the contents of his blood.

Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials are also investigating.
