CHARLEROI, Pa.—A western Pennsylvania teacher is charged with having sex with a 15-year-old girl he met after he was hired to direct a high school musical in a nearby district.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 23-year-old Jeffrey Hahn, of Belle Vernon, who is a seventh grade teacher at the Bethlehem-Center School District. State police say Hahn committed the crimes last month at the Charleroi Area Junior-Senior High School auditorium, where he was directing the musical.

Charleroi school officials say Hahn passed all background checks before he was hired to direct the high school's spring musical. Police say he met the girl in March and began text messaging her before they finally performed sex acts on May 4.

The Associated Press could not immediately located a listed phone for Hahn.
