A Luzerne County jury deliberated for more than seven hours before convicting 22-year-old Benjamin Westbrooks of Hazleton of first-degree murder on Friday.
Prosecutors said he abducted 20-year-old Alicia Weaver outside a nail salon and shot her four times on a Foster Township road in November 2010.
Westbrooks asked to be sentenced immediately to the mandatory life term, and the judge obliged. The defendant said "Justice is never served" as he left the courthouse.
Defense attorneys have vowed to appeal. They suggested that another man committed the murder, but prosecutors pointed to conflicting statements given by the defendant.
