PHILADELPHIA—Jurors in a landmark priest abuse trial in Philadelphia have heard grand jury testimony from a church official on his handling of allegations of a priest having made sexual overtures to women and ultimately of alleged fondled of a 13-year-old girl.

The Philadelphia Inquirer ( http://bit.ly/ISCzPQ) says Assistant District Attorney Patrick Blessington read the testimony by Monsignor William Lynn to the Common Pleas Court jury on Tuesday. He said the priest was transferred after an affair with a parishioner and after another went to a church-run facility for priests with sexual or substance abuse problems. But Lynn said new allegations and the fondling report surfaced.

The priest, who wasn't charged with any crime, was defrocked in March 2002. A listed number for him could not be found Tuesday night.
