BUILDERS ASSOCIATION

Endorsement for Miller

The York Builders Association's board of directors has voted to endorse Rep. Ron Miller for his bid to succeed Sen. Mike Waugh. Ron has been builder and community friendly for many years — he relates very well to the industry and the needs of the community in regards to development.

An endorsement from the YBA only seems logical: As a past majority chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee, Ron was instrumental in the passage of Act 1. That act eliminated the requirement for sprinklers in single-family detached homes, which the YBA heralded for keeping building costs affordable for homeowners. Ron was also named a Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business.

This year, the YBA, comprised mostly of small businesses, celebrates 50 years of commitment to the idea that everyone in York County deserves access to safe and economical housing. Among other community projects, the York Builders Association is invested in advocating for practical government policy for homeowners and contractors.

On behalf of the York Builders Association, I wish Miller all the best in his campaign, and look forward to his future goals of helping small businesses create success in Pennsylvania.
