The York County Local Food Summit is being postponed.
Low registration prompted the decision, said event chair Tia Bess.
Only 18 people had signed up for the food summit, which was scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the York County 4-H Center, 771 Stoverstown Road.
"The event is designed for about 150 people," she said.
The event had 140 attendees last year, and organizers hoped to attract 200 this year, Bess said.
The event committee will convene next week to choose a new date.
"We're going to strongly consider having it on a Saturday in the spring next time," she said.

The food summit grew out of a practicum for her master's degree, Bess said.
Her research led to the discovery of local food issues, including some grim statistics released by the Food Availability Task Force.
Just 3 percent of York County residents consume three servings of fruits and vegetables a day, according to the report. In its first year, the event tried to assess the nutrition needs of the community, and this year farming was the theme.
"Our focus is on growing opportunities," she said. "We will be teaching people how to start growing and farming, whether it's urban farms, rural farms, community gardens or growing through the winter."
The event was going to teach future farmers how to grow their crops, as well as the business side of farming and how to grow in the winter, said Bess, who also serves as the urban 4-H educator for the York County Penn State Extension.
Workshops, food and keynote speeches were included in the $35 admission - a $5 increase from the ticket price last year.
Bess said she didn't think the higher ticket price was to blame for low registration.
"I think it was more the timing," she said.
