An annual award for teachers from Shippensburg University will honor 13 York County teachers during National Education Week.

The teachers were nominated by their districts and chosen by the university's School Study Council for the Outstanding Teacher Award.

Brian Small, the executive director of the council, said the awards are for teachers in the 10 counties near the university.

Four of the selected York teachers will also be guest lecturers for education classes at Shippensburg, and work with university faculty throughout the year. Kellin McCullough at Southern York School District, Joni McKenzie and Melissa Sneeringer from Spring Grove Area School District and Gary Barshinger from West York School District were selected as guest lecturers.

The selected teachers will be honored at a luncheon, held at the university, on Nov. 19.
