Four people face charges following a Thursday prostitution sting in Fairview Township, the township's police department said Friday.
The department said several law enforcement agencies from three counties participated in the sting, targeting prostitution at different motels in Fairview Township.
After allegedly agreeing to accept money from undercover officers in exchange for services, Belinda Graham, 30, from Atlanta, Ga., and Fu Xiao Li, 36, originally from Malaysia, were each charged with one count of promoting prostitution, police said.
Police said they also charged Ylynn Baskerville, 25, and Courtney Thompson-Wagner, 27, with promoting prostitution and robbery. Baskerville was also charged with one count of receiving stolen property.
After obtaining money from the undercover officers, the women attempted to leave the motel, police said, adding that Baskerville kept her hand on a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun inside her purse until the arrest team took both women into custody.
Baskerville admitted that the plan was to rob the "Johns" with the handgun, police said. The gun was stolen in a theft in Fairview Township back in 2010, police added.
In addition to the arrests and recovering the stolen handgun, more than $2,600.00 in cash was seized during the detail, according to police
Personnel from the York County District Attorney's Office, the York County Sheriff's Department, Lower Allen Township Police Department, Swatara Township Police Department, and Steelton Borough Police Department assisted Fairview Township Police in the sting.
