The Central York school district will host Miss America 2014 at this year's Diversity Celebration Thursday.
This is the eighth year for the event, and the public is invited to hear Miss America Nina Davuluri speak during the celebration, 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the middle school.
The event, which is free, will also include student entertainment, food and children's activities.
Davuluri is the first Miss America of Indian descent and is a medical student at SUNY Upstate Medical University and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in brain, behavior and cognitive science.
Davuluri will speak on the theme "Celebrating Diversity Through Cultural Competency" and will also visit with students in the high school during the school day Thursday.
