A longtime Northern York County Regional Police officer is hanging up the handcuffs after a 25-year career with the department.
Cpl. Blake Gladfelter began his career with the department in 1988 and, in 1990, was named officer of the year, according to a news release from the department.
From 1996 to 1997, Gladfelter served in the criminal investigation unit. In 2002, he was promoted to corporal and assigned to the patrol division as a supervisor.
Gladfelter also served as a field-training officer, a crash investigator and a member of the honor guard, the release says.
