Office hours at York's City Hall, 101 S. George St., will extend to 5 p.m. starting Monday.

The extra half hour is a result of a new contract with the York Public Employees Association (YPEA), a union for clerical workers.

The new contract increases the workers' week from 37.5 to 40 hours.

"As city government endeavors to provide our residents and our customers with responsive excellent service my administration has decided to extend City Hall business hours in order to make it more convenient for them to conduct business with us," Mayor Kim Bracey said, according to a news release.
