Staying Connected (www.stayingconnectedyork.org) welcomes volunteer drivers and errand-runners to transport seniors who no longer drive.
The program serves people 60 and older in the central part of York County. Volunteers should be available at least once a month for 2-3 hours at a time to drive someone to a medical appointment or on an essential errand, or to grocery shop for a senior.
Scheduling is usually done a week or more in advance and is flexible for those who travel or have other commitments. Volunteers can choose their assignments online thanks to an easy-to-use web-based system that provides a map and directions.
Prospective volunteers can call Deena Gross at (717) 846-2235 or email email@example.com.
