The York County Heritage Trust is now accepting applications for the Museum Apprentice Program, which begins this spring.
Students who have completed 10th grade are eligible to apply.
The program gives participants the opportunity to work as oral historians while completing a project for the Trust. As a group, apprentices will learn the foundations of oral history, from developing research skills to forming interview guides. They will then interview community members about a specific topic.
Apprentices will take field trips to local historic sites for behind-the-scenes tours. They will also participate in hands-on activities, including learning to bake in an authentic squirrel tail oven.
For more information and to complete an application, visit the York County Heritage Trust website at www.yorkheritage.org, or contact Patrick Bochy, museum educator, at (717) 848-1587 or email@example.com.
