Federal prosecutors allege that three foreign nationals arrested in York and Adams counties entered the country illegally.

Authorities arrested Adolfo Lopez-Perez, 24, and Antonio Rios, 42, both of whom are citizens of Mexico, were found in Adams County. Tomas Justino Mercado-Mendoza, 26, a citizen of El Salvador, was found in York County, U.S. Attorney Peter Smith said in a news release.

The three came to the attention of authorities after eluding examination or inspection by immigration officers, the release states.

If convicted, the three men face a maximum prison term of six months, a term of supervised release following imprisonment and a fine.
