Sneakers, sleeping bags and cancer education? It must be the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, a 24-hour event to celebrate survivorship and raise funds for cancer research, education, advocacy and services.

* An informational meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at York County School of Technology.

Teams are encouraged to sign up early for the 19th annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of York to take place June 21-22 at York County School of Technology in York.

* In Red Lion, community members are invited to Red Lion High School for an informational meeting in the athletic conference room at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The 2013 Relay for Life will be held at Red Lion High School on July 19-20. In Red Lion, the goal is to raise $29,000 for the American Cancer Society.
