The Bureau of Permits, Planning and Zoning and the Fire Prevention Bureau of the City of York are offering Citizen Inspector Training classes for York City residents from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, in City Council Chambers, 101 S. George St. The class is free.
The Citizen Inspector program was created in 1998 and encourages participants to serve as the "eyes and ears" for the community. The role of a citizen inspector is to assist in keeping neighborhoods safe and clean, to encourage neighbors to maintain their properties and to report possible violations. They will not enforce the codes but will provide information to city personnel for appropriate and timely follow-up.
For more information or to sign up call (717) 849-2256 or send an e-mail to email@example.com. Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to City Hall.
