Springettsbury Township Police are offering a winter session of its Citizens' Police Academy because its fall session was such a success, according to police.

Academy classes are 2-1/2 hours, one night a week for 10 weeks, and usually are held at the police station on Mount Zion Road across from the York Galleria.

The course runs from Feb. 5 to April 9, and class size is limited to 20 people. Registration is first come, first served.

Classes cover a wide range of topics, from crime-scene investigation to accident reconstruction to patrol tactics.
