Thrifty Black Friday shoppers could find great deals on everything from iPods to pickup trucks at the York County Drug Task Force's semi-annual auction.

The auction starts at 10 a.m. Nov. 23 in the parking lot of Schaad Detective Agency, 1114 Roosevelt Ave., said York County Detective Craig Fenstermacher.

People can show up as early as 7:30 a.m. to look at the auction items, he said.

On the block will be at least 60 vehicles, including an older high-mileage Mercedes, a few pickup trucks and a number of smaller sedans, Fenstermacher said.

Other items to be auctioned include electronics such as iPods and computers, he said.

All auction items were seized during drug investigations, Fenstermacher said, and proceeds from the auction stay in York County to help fund more drug investigations.

Those attending the auction need to bring cash, as checks and credit cards are not accepted, Fenstermacher said. People who buy vehicles must provide a $300 cash deposit and pay off the balance within seven days.

Staff will be present at the auction to help people with state Department of Transportation paperwork. People must be at least 18 years old to buy a vehicle.
