Wolfe's Diner in Carroll Township narrowly avoided becoming a drive-through restaurant Thursday night when a minivan crashed into it, police said.
Carroll Township Police Sgt. David Smith said it happened just after 11 p.m. when driver Louis Best lost control of his Toyota Sienna, which was southbound on Route 15.
The minivan struck two vehicles in the diner's parking lot, then struck the diner's front steps, Smith said. Both the concrete steps and the railing sustained damage, he said.
Best, 61, of Golf Club Avenue in Carroll Township, apparently suffered a medical emergency at the time of the crash, according to Smith.
Best was unhurt in the crash, but taken to a local hospital as a precaution, Smith said.
Wolfe's Diner remains open.
