Comic Store West's annual November food drive starts Thursday, with the shop attempting to beat the 3,000 pounds of food raised in last year's drive. The donations of nonperishable food benefit the York County Food Bank.
Donors can drop off their items at 2111 Industrial Highway, Springettsbury Township, during regular store hours.
Gamers can contribute in several ways:
The Magic: The Gathering Highlander event at noon Saturday, Nov. 10 features a $100 first prize. The entry fee is $10 plus five canned food items.
The HeroClix Batman: No Man's Land event at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 requires a donation of five canned food items to play.
The annual WarMachine and Hordes Food Drive event starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.
The shop's Dungeons and Dragons games, open to all player levels, including those who have never played before, start at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Players earn in-game rewards for their canned food donations.
Other game nights starting at 6 p.m. include historical miniatures on Mondays, board games and non-collectible card games on Tuesdays, Magic: The Gathering on Thursdays and fantasy miniatures on Fridays. Spectators are welcome, too.
