Springettsbury Township Police arrested a York City man after an undercover officer spotted him allegedly break into a parked car.

Claude James Brown, 48, 150 W. King St., allegedly broke into a vehicle parked in the lot of Lowe's, 2449 E. Market St., on Oct. 15.

Investigators subsequently determined he was behind eight other thefts from vehicles parked in the township, going back to July, according to police, who charged Brown with nine counts of theft from a vehicle.

He stole tools from the vehicles, police said.

Brown remains in York County Prison on a total of $22,500 bail.
