The city of York will host the annual running of the York White Rose Run at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The run begins in the 200 block of North George Street and will conclude at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

George Street will be closed from North Street to Princess Street for the start of the race. Additionally, there will be no parking after 7 a.m. on George Street from North Street to Princess Street.

Portions of the following streets will be briefly affected during the race: Princess Street, Newberry Street, Park Street, Penn Street, Madison Avenue, Parkway Boulevard, Atlantic Avenue, Kelly Drive, Priority Road , Fireside Drive, Pennsylvania Avenue, Willis Lane, Pershing Avenue , Jefferson Avenue, Arch Street and Queen Street.

Traffic will be stopped as the race passes. Watch for runners and pay attention to the officials directing traffic in these areas.

Motorists are advised to use either Beaver Street or Queen Street as alternate routes if they are traveling either north or south through the city between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
