No students were hurt Wednesday morning when a vehicle struck their school bus in Codorus Township, police said.

It happened about 7:25 a.m. on Steltz Road, just south of Lineboro Road, state police said.

A northbound vehicle driven by Deanna Kay Herald, 33, no address given, crossed into the opposite lane and struck the driver-side rear tire of the First Student School Bus No. 31, according to state police.

None of the 32 middle- and high-school students on board the bus was hurt, and bus driver Bruce Coyle, 63, also escaped injury, police said.

Herald suffered minor injuries and was taken to York Hospital, police said.

Steltz Road was closed for about 30 minutes; Glen Rock fire police directed traffic at the scene, police said.

Wayne McCullough, chief financial and operations officer for Southern York School District, said paramedics checked out students at the scene, and school nurses checked students later.

"We did have a few students who complained of minor ... aches," he said, but there were no injuries. "We were fortunate."
