Puppy couture is coming to York.
Everything from fleece coats to wedding wear will be modeled by dogs in The Puppy Wear Doggie Fashion Show, a new feature of the 15th annual Women's Show at the York Expo Center on Saturday and Sunday.
The fashion show for dogs begins at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Presented by Memorial Hospital, the Women's Show features shopping, exhibits, entertainment, seminars, cooking and prizes. Admission is $4, or free for anyone presenting a Weis Preferred Shoppers card.
The first 150 people to arrive will receive a free tote bag courtesy of TJ Maxx.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit York County Victim Assistance Center programs.
Attendees can register to win a grand prize of $1,000 in cosmetic treatment from Advanced Vein & Laser Center, $500 Weis Markets gift card and $500 TJ Maxx gift card.
Anne Shannon, a weekend news anchor for WGAL, will be the keynote speaker for the expo.
Seminars will cover topics like the treatment of varicose vein problems, Social Security, finances, women's health, holiday gift ideas, solar energy, organization and downsizing, quick and easy dinner solutions and seasonal floral decorating advice.
A seminar by the Allegro Winery in Brogue will include wine tasting and discussion of smart wine and food pairings.
Entertainment, too: Entertainment will include a musical review show by the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, zumba and karate demonstrations, dance performances, a world cheese tour and fashion shows.
"There are two different belly dancing groups this year," said Barb Carbaugh, president of 98.5 The Peak, which is presenting the expo with Smart Magazine. "Women really like belly dancing because it's entertaining and it's good exercise."
Dancers of the Nile, a Middle Eastern dance group, will perform on Saturday. In the Pink Belly Dancers, a group of cancer survivors, will perform on Sunday.
Local country singer Lindsey Erin, who performed at the York Fair, will be performing on Sunday at 1 p.m.
