Two Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar restaurants are planning grand opening celebrations this month that will give the first 100 customers at each location free wings for a year.
The location at 81 Wilson Ave. in Hanover will open with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Oct. 15.
Awards will be given to the first 100 customers in line, who will receive coupon books good for six free wings every week for a year, according to Peter Helfrich, regional manager for the Minneapolis-based chain of sports bars.
A location at 105 N. Northern Way in Springettsbury Township will also open later this month at 10 a.m. Oct. 29.
The first 100 customers in line there will receive the same coupon books for free wings for a year, Helfrich said.
To be the first 100 customers in line, people typically camp out the night before, he said.
Anywhere between 30 and 115 people camp overnight, but at least 100 customers are always in line by the store's opening, Helfrich said.
In effort to accommodate those customers, Buffalo Wild Wings provides entertainment and games for those in waiting, he said.
After those first customers are admitted to the restaurants, the public will be welcomed into the new locations, which will each employ 120 people, Helfrich said.
The Hanover restaurant has hired all of its employees, and the Springettsbury Township location is hiring its final 10 to 15 employees this week, he said.
Following the grand openings, normal hours at both locations will be 11 a.
Two more locations will open in the region later this year, Helfrich said. One restaurant is planned for the Colonial Park Mall in Harrisburg, and another is planned at the Carlisle Pike shopping center in Mechanicsburg near a new Wegman's.
