Downtown York's Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center will once again team up with the city of York and Downtown Inc to present Jazz in the City, a monthly jazz concert series.¶

The series will kick off Friday, Oct. 5, and run through June.¶

Under the artistic direction of Jeff Stabley, Jazz in the City will welcome regional musicians each month during First Friday festivities from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Studio at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St., York.¶ The first Jazz in the City event will feature the Rev. Dr. Dred "Perky" Scott on vocals; Kirk Reese on piano; Steve Meashey on bass; Mac White on percussion; and Jeff Stabley on drums.¶

Jazz in the City tickets are $3 for general admission or free with a valid student ID. Tickets will be sold only at the door at the Philadelphia Street entrance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
