A Manchester woman allegedly struck two children as they were getting off a school bus in East Manchester Township Monday afternoon.

Kimberly Massa, 43, was issued two citations at the scene for violating bus lights and reckless driving, said Chief Bryan Rizzo of Northeastern Regional Police.

Massa was driving in the 4300 block of East Board Road when she approached a bus that had its red lights activated as children departed the bus about 3:35 p.m., police said.

She allegedly ignored the warning lights and drove around the bus, striking an 8-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother as they were crossing the street with their mother, Lt. Howard Daniels said.

The children suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to York Hospital, the lieutenant said.

Massa told police that she drove around the bus because she was late for an appointment, Daniels said.
