The Penn State Cooperative Extension in York is planning to spray portions of Dover Township to control adult mosquito populations during the evening hours on Monday.

The spray will be conducted in the residential areas in the vicinity of Davidsburg Road from West Canal Road to Carlisle Road and residential areas in the vicinity of Palomino Road, Park Street and Wyatt Circle.

The rain date for this spray event will be Tuesday.

Samples recently collected by Penn State Cooperative Extension in those areas have shown high mosquito populations that can carry the West Nile virus.

A truck mounted insecticide will be sprayed in concentrations significantly below that of a commercial insect control product in used in homes.
