Weather conditions permitting, spraying to control adult mosquito populations will be conducted during the evening hours Thursday, Sept. 6, in Manchester Township.

The spraying will be in the residential and commercial areas in the vicinity of North George Street, from Masonic Drive to Emigsville and east along Woodland View Drive to Grim Lane.

Samples collected by state Department of Environmental Protection staff from this area indicate high populations of mosquitoes that can carry the West Nile virus.

A truck-mounted ULV spray will be conducted. The insecticide is applied in concentrations significantly below what someone would use spraying a commercial insect control product in their home.
